Hi, I’m Sydney
I graduated from Truman State University in 2019 with my BS in Exercise Science, minor in Psychology. There, I founded and lead a Mental Health Foundation for the University after seeing a severe need for student support. After graduating, I worked at the inpatient psychiatric unit at Mercy Hospital for 2 years before deciding to get my Master’s in Counseling. I graduated with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Healh Counseling from University of Missouri, St. Louis in 2024. I completed my year long internship at the Psychoanalytic Institute of St. Louis in 2024.
I’m a straight-forward and compassionate person, a skill that was honed by working in the service indursty for the better part of my life. I wholeheartedly understand what it’s like to struggle, to grind, and to feel like you’ve been dropped in the middle of the ocean and not know which way to start swimming. If this sounds like what you’re going through, then you’re probably in the right spot.
I use a psychoanalytic lens when working with my clients to uncover unconscious patterns and mental structures that ultimately hold us back from living freely and authentically. I also draw from DBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, for skills needed to navigate emotional regualtion.
Ultimately, your choice of therapist is something you have to make by trusting your gut instinct. If you feel like reaching out, please fill out one of my contact forms.
